I wish I could have been there
When Jesus walked upon the raging sea
And, I wish I could have been there
And heard Him say to the fisherman:
"leave all and follow me"
I wish I could have been there
When He healed the leper
And made the blind eyes to see
I wish I could have been there
At the wedding feast,
And be in all the excitement
When the wine was increased
And, I wish I could have been there
When He told old Zaccheus
He was coming to His house for tea
I wish I could have been there
When Jesus arose from the dead, on "Day 3"
And, I wish I could have been there
When the angels rolled back the stone
For all to see
No, I wasn't there, but I get so excited
When I read all about it
God put it there, in His Holy Word
Just for encouragement, for you and me
He's here right now, in our midst you see
With a healing touch
So come and get free
He'll fill your heart with joyful singing
And make those joybells start a ringing
