"There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers." (Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV)

Dear Father, today I pray that you will bless your children with your wisdom. Keep our eyes from things that distract us from You, for if our eyes are upon You, we will be made unable to let them wander evilly. Keep our tongues from speaking lies so that we may speak Your truths, let our witness and talk reflect You. Let our hands be used only to do good, lovingly reaching out to all those around us. Keep our feet firmly planted on the straight and narrow path You've set before us, and let us not veer off into parts unknown, for we know that in You, there is true freedom in our lives. Let the words we speak bring peace and comfort to our brothers and sisters, and enable us to end quarreling in all its forms and guide others into the paths of understanding. Let us be slow to speak, slow to anger, and quick to respond in love and peace. Guard our hearts and let us not lean on our own understanding, but Yours. If our feet are heading us towards any evil, stop us, and turn us back to You.

These things I pray today, and every day. I cannot do any of this on my own, but with You, I can do all of it. Stay close to us, dear Father. In You, we find life, freedom, trust, and comfort. Bless us as we walk in Your light. In Jesus's blessed name, I pray--Amen.

Keep Jesus first. If you wander off somewhere, turn around and come back. He is waiting for you.
If you don't know what to say to someone, let Him speak for you. This straight and narrow path we walk is really a big one that leads us to life--real life, and we can only walk it with His help.

What a wonderful life we have! If you haven't said "Thanks, Lord!" lately, stop right now and do it.
