I wonder why God loves me so
Nought have I done to earn this love
That flows so freely from above
Filling me with strength and grace
The world and all its troubles face.
I wonder why Christ died for me
Much have I done to earn that death
Yet chose He to die in my stead
To free me from sin's evil grasp
And place me up in God's high class!
