Poetry
As I lean over the cobblestone wall
I stare down to the bottom of the well.
Reluctant, I toss a penny,
As I wish for any thing more.
I believe, in a wish come true,
As too, the dreams that follow,
And, I spend a few pennies of my thought,
As time stands still!
I realize, life is all I make it,
And, nothing more.
As I reach for the reflection of what I wish
To come,
I lean over the cobblestone wall as I welcome
The notion of a wish come true!
As, I now realize, all that was ever needed in a thirst
For life,
Is just a little faith in every thing I am,
Within my grasp I hold this penny,
Within my heart I hold my faith,
And, I ask the lord for this,
For, it is all that was ever needed.
I toss this penny, thus, I turn my back on greed,
And, I trust in tomorrow with every ounce of being.
