O, Lord, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him?"

Psalm 144:3

This verse has always stuck out to me, I think because I think of this concept a lot. This is a concept that we may never be able to figure out. My only reasoning of WHY God loves us so much is this-WE BELONG TO HIM. I believe this is His reasoning too, since none of us are worthy of His love based on our own personal merit.

Some of you reading this may have kids, and some may not. For those of you who do have a kid or two, you know this much-kids do not always obey :) I work with toddlers and we think its a miracle when the DO obey, LOL. You, as parents do not love your children based on how they act. If you did, they would be in trouble! You may love them just a few days out of the year, if that were the case. But you do not love them based on what they do, you love them based on who they ARE. They are YOURS. God loves US because we are HIS. No matter how many times we disappoint Him, we can always come back, to His throne, seek forgiveness, and still be His son our daughter.

The psalmist asks-"Who is man that you should care for him." Gods answer-"You are my child." And later on, because of the redeeming blood of Jesus, we are made right through Christ, and in the Fathers eyes, we are redeemed and washed clean when we accept Jesus as Saviour. He loves us so much that He sent His son to die for us(Jn 3:16). I know I did not deserve God's grace on the cross, and I do not derserve it now. But being His daughter, my Father gives me all good things, and as His children, the gifts that he has for us, salvation amoung others is His free gift to us.
Why does God love man? God created man to be like Him, and we always have a special place in His heart, as His beloved children.
