Grief
To serve was your intent,
So overseas you went
To fight in Hell.
So sure to win the fight
Yet in the dead of night,
A hero fell.
We stand so reverent,
Too soon your life was spent...
And so we cry.
You did not hesitate
Boldly you met your fate...
We wonder why.
The guns saluting thee,
Ever so solemnly
For honor and bravery
And now they cease
Your soul has been set free
We bid farewell to thee,
Sweet son of Liberty,
God give you peace.
