The Great Commission Given by Jesus Christ
(Math 28:19, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47, Acts 1:8)


The great commission of Jesus Christ is to take the Gospel to all the people in the world. In the book of John 15:16, Jesus said that “I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit”. If you want to get what ever you ask from God in the name of Jesus, you must go and bear the fruit. This is a great promise of God for you to lead a successful Christian life. It is estimated that about 2.4 billion people in the world have never heard the Gospel. Who is responsible for this?

Why God given this Commission to us, Why not Angels?

Definitely angels can spread the gospel faster than us. But angels cannot suffer like you and me to propagate Gods’ love. No one can show the Gods’ love without suffering. Gospel cannot be preached without love. That’s what the apostles preached the gospel and enlightened the world. For this reason, Jesus became a flesh and body like you and me in this world to show His great love to the world. That is why Jesus Christ has given this great commission to us.

The world is condemned already: - In John 3:18, it is said “ Whoever believes in him is not condemned but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s only and only son”. The only way to save the world from the condemnation is to take the good news of Jesus to spread throughout the entire world. Some are thinking that preaching or telling the gospel is the job of preachers and missionaries. This is a wrong assumption. In Ezekiel 3:18, it is said “ God will hold you accountable for the wicked mans blood” That’s why it is every one’s duty to tell the good news to whoever we love or meet.

He appointed you to bear fruits, yes! He knows your deeds (Revelation 3:1). If you don’t preach the gospel your sprit and soul will slowly die; you will not be any more be a witness for a born again Christian. Bear fruit in this world otherwise you will come up by the flesh and your unfruitful life will take you back to your old sinful life. The measurement of your spiritual growth is depends upon your soul winning for Christ. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.

What will happen when you take the gospel to the hungry, needy and oppressed?

Isaiah 58:10 “your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.” I have seen many brothers in my life who have been blessed in their life only, because they devote their life for taking gospel to the oppressed amidst their busiest life. Some of them, though they suffered financially, devote themselves to tell the gospel at any cost. Even you spend one penny for the sake of gospel, you will get many fold. No one will loose in the name of Jesus but will get blessed in all aspects (sprit, soul and body). Your light will rise in the darkness; your night (suffering life) will become like the noonday. Why not you then?

Holy Sprit anointing is for what? –

Many believers are thinking that the Holy Sprit anointing is given to them are only to comfort or counsel or to learn or sanctify. Don’t you know that it is also given for you to preach or tell the good news to the poor and oppressed? In Luke 4:18 Jesus Christ said what for He anointed. Why not your anointing will be useful for the oppressed and the poor. If you are not anointed, ask the Father now in the name of Jesus He will fill you. He promised to pore on every flesh in these days. Only thing is that you must be thirsty to get; will you be?

Anointed Samaritan woman: - In the book of John Chapter 4. One day a Samaritan woman became thirsty to get the “living water” (to anoint) and Jesus anointed her. Soon after her anointing, she ran to her village and brought them all to Jesus. Think of yourself now, how many souls you have earned after your anointing. My beloved believers in Jesus Christ, your anointing should save some souls.

When the disciples urged Jesus to eat some thing, Jesus replied in John 4:34 “ My food is to do the will of Father”. Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for the harvest. Jesus Christ gives this great commission unto you. Do not scare in telling Gospel to others because the command has come from the creator. In Luke 14:23, He commanded us to bring many to full his house. Surely he will be always with us, to the very end of the age. God bless you!
