I’ve Made My Choice

I choose to shout for joy on the heights of Zion.
I choose to believe that tomorrow
will see me rejoicing in God’s bounty.
I choose not to wear a cloak of sorrow.

I choose to dance in the rain. I choose to be glad.
I choose not to wear a mourner’s veil,
being comforted by the Word of God,
drinking fresh Water from the Living Well.

Some say the choice is not mine, but I know it is.
It’s a matter of choice to believe
every Word that proceeds from God’s mouth.
So I rejoice when another would grieve.

I choose this day Whom to serve and Whom to follow,
chasing hard for that Heavenly Prize,
believing in things that I’ve yet to see,
being taught Truths by the Teacher most wise.

“I AM YOUR EXCEEDINGLY GREAT REWARD -- LOVE, YOUR FATHER, GOD!”

Last night, I went to bed with a radio playing softly on my dresser. This morning, I woke to a male voice saying that the sunrise was more beautiful than any he'd seen in years. Unfortunately, one of the things I've missed most since moving into this house is being able to see the sunrise. I know it's there, but I can't physically see it through the huge treeline across the street. If the Lord sees fit, I will move again one day ... into a house that I can own instead of rent. And, if He sees fit, I will enjoy the sunrise from an eastward facing porch or deck. And, if He sees fit, I will enjoy those mornings with someone very special. Until then, I just know that the sunrise is beautiful and it's there ... just like I know that God can't lie and righteousness and peace have kissed one another.

They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion;
they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD--
the grain, the new wine and the oil,
the young of the flocks and herds.

They will be like a well-watered garden,
and they will sorrow no more.
Then maidens will dance and be glad,
young men and old as well.

I will turn their mourning into gladness;
I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
I will satisfy the priests with abundance,
and my people will be filled with my bounty,"
declares the LORD.

Jeremiah 31:12-14 NIV

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity,
and the water of affliction,
yet shall not thy teachers
be removed into a corner any more,
but thine eyes shall see thy teachers.

Isaiah 30:20 KJV

Even those I will bring to My holy mountain
And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
will be acceptable on My altar;
For My house will be called a
house of prayer for all the peoples.

Isaiah 56:7 NASB

I will hear what God the LORD will speak:
for he will speak peace unto his people,
and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him;
that glory may dwell in our land.

Mercy and truth are met together;
righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Truth shall spring out of the earth;
and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good;
and our land shall yield her increase.

Righteousness shall go before him;
and shall set us in the way of his steps.

Psalm 85:8-13 KJV

Treava... What a wonderful choice! How can we not rejoice knowing that, regardless of our problems and trials, we have our Lord Jesus at our side, loving us through everything and then opening His arms to us as we live with Him forever! Your words inspire us to choose JOY instead of sadness, TRUST instead of fear, HOPE instead of discouragement and PEACE instead of turmoil. I applaud your personal choice and thank you for encouraging all who read your words to follow your lead! With love, Peggy

Joyce, you are all ready like a well watered garden. The Scriptures says: Ps. 126:1-When the Lord brought back ZION, we were like those who dream. (2) Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. You will live your dream in that house with someone you dearly love, for RIGHTEOUSNESS and PEACE have KISSED each other, and glory WILL dwell in our land. Love you, Sharon
