Is Your Cross Overweight?

Don't misinterpret the phrase, "Take up your cross and follow Me." The Cross Carrier carried THE Cross.

Not only did He take the burden of the sins of the whole world on Himself, He walked an extremely long distance with that weight on His shoulders so that you wouldn’t have to walk in sin yourself. He’s more than capable of delivering you. And He already paid the price for that deliverance. Let go. Let God.

That cross was far too heavy for you not to. Only pride would carry an overweight cross. Humility will take the greatest part of that weight off your shoulders. You can repent all day. But it doesn't lighten the load until you let it go. Let the river of mercy flow. Let God. Let go.

Only pride would carry an overweight cross. Humility will take the greatest part of that weight off your shoulders...Short word but powerful. I use to carry a lot of weight on my back and God said this is not yours to carry. Give them to Me. Too often we want to fix things ourselves and then we find ourselves over burdened. Sometimes all we can do is pray and let God do the rest. Thanks for this word. I have been blessed.

Painfully true and to the point. Too often pride forces me to carry my overweight cross. Thank you for the lesson.

Fear of the unknown that lies ahead must be overcome by every Christian. It is only then when one becomes one with their cross. They now are on it. The carnal flesh is being crucified. Our lives must resemble Christ. GREAT ARTICLE

Letting go is one of the hardest things a human can do in this self-sufficient, 'you can do it all' world ... yet, when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we must let Him have it ALL in order to receive ALL He has for us as His children. If God is to work in our lives, we have to let Him! We can't hold on to some things, and give Him just a portion to work on. It's all or nothing...I should say it's ALL AND EVERYTHING...because when we give ALL, we receive EVERYTHING! Thank you for this vital reminder - you always seem to know what we need to hear...God bless you! Love, Peggy

I like that catchy title and the message. You got me reading and thinking. But what if my cross is my overweight body? (Smile!) Seriously, how many times have we let pride get in the way of our faith? Thanks for reminding us to humbly submit to God in everything and His way, not our way. Blessings, Gloria

This is such a great reminder of God's mercies...Lamentations 3:22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Thanks for sharing , Joyce. May many more be blessed by reading your writings as I am . Yours In Christ , Julie

Honestly, my cross is very overweight. I know God can do anything and everything, yet some things I just can't seem to let go of, hard as I try. This is fear and nothing more. And me holding on tightly isn't helping. I am afraid of things I see coming and I am powerless to stop them because I technically am not responsible for them,someone I love is, and I can't get him to see where he's going. Teenagers!
