ENLIGHTENMENT

Achieved heights of enlightenment
Awareness
Cumbersome at times
I take what I can hold
Digesting its truth
Boundaries expanding
Man’s mortality
Sacred revelations
Often confused with lust
Ego blocks the light
Fear invades
Confusion ensues
My deepest desires envisioned
Imagination
Transporting my mind to a beautiful destination
Creative focus
Accentuates reality
I become the dream
Shattered human world
Fades slowly into oblivion
Magnificent new horizons appear
Lonely journey
One I must travel in solitude
Ephemeral needs
Trip-wire along my path
Melancholy clouds my vision
Evanescent existence
Reeling from my weakness
Infatuation
Shameful nakedness
Subtle reminder of my fragile arrogance
Infantile naivety
Badge of spiritual growth
As a child
The mountain looms
Mighty peak
Distant blur
I press on
Assured
