BE SIMPLE MINDED!

Be simple minded. This statement may seem very peculiar in light of the level of knowledge we have attained in this day and age. But if you want to live a supernatural life in Christ today, you must become "simple minded".

Let me explain. God tells us in His Word, that His thoughts are high above our thoughts, and His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). Yet we are always trying to bring God down to our level rather than putting on the mind of Christ.

Let's use our "logic" and look at a few scriptures. Look at Matthew 14:29 "... And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to come to Jesus". By the way, how has your water walking been lately? In Mark 8:23 Jesus spit in a blind man's eyes, and he was able to see. We're just getting started; hang in there. 2 Kings 5:14 - a leper dips seven times in the dirty Jordan River, and he is healed. Moving on. Joshua 6:4 - the Israelites marched around the city of Jericho seven times. On the seventh day the priests blew their trumpets, and the walls of this highly fortified city came crashing down without a shot being fired. How about food for the multitudes? 2 Kings 4:42-44 tells us Elisha fed 100 men with twenty loaves of bread and some grain, and there were leftovers. Matthew 14:17-21 relates how Jesus fed over five thousand men plus women and children with five loaves of bread and two fishes. All were filled, and there were twelve baskets of leftovers.

We could continue, but I hope you are beginning to get the picture. With all of our knowledge today we are still unable to figure God out. He uses the foolish things to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27). So, instead of giving yourself a headache trying to figure out the how, just trust in the Who and do what He says.

When He says lay hands on the sick anointing them with oil, just do it and see the results. Don't try to figure it out. When He says pay your tithe first. DO IT! Then see God's provision in action. If He tells you to get out of the safety of your proverbial boat, step out in confidence - not in yourself but in the One who holds you in the palm of His hand.

God loves His Son, and He did not allow Him to endure the cross just so we could lead mediocre, unfruitful and miserable lives. He came that we might have life and that more abundantly. Start living up to God's expectation for your life, enjoying every day and looking forward to eternity.
