The Wise old friend



The wiser of the two old men who sat in the park one day,
quietly bowed his head in prayer,and calmly proceeded to say.
Father,what is your plan for me?.I'm not a young boy anymore,
for I am just a feble old man at the age of eighty-four.
The man he raised his head again as a tear rolled down his
cheek.His friend looked slightly puzzled,but still so mild
and meek.
Why is it that you cry my chum?,he asked his wise old friend.
Is it because the Lord did not reply and you fear you are
near the end?.Or did you finally realize that there's no such
thing as the Lord,and all these years of praying,you've always
been ignored.
The man looked at his friend again as a smile stretched across
his face,I'm not afraid of dying,for I am going to a better
place.When I asked the Lord what He had planned for me, He
flashed back over my life and was quick to help me see, My
life was spent serving the Lord and the reward He'll give to
me is to leave this earth to dwell with Him for all eternity.
You see my friend that tear you saw was a tear I shed for you,
I know you don't believe in the Lord but He believes in you.
What a dark and lonely place it must be to live,but you are
very lucky that the Lord knows how to forgive.For He has saved
a place for you that I never thought you'd see,by answering the
prayer of a wise old friend,who happens to be me.
Again there was another tear just followed by a grin,It appears
I'm at a loss for words and either way you win.You see dear
friend,I was sent,to test your faith today.I've pretended to
not believe in God every step along the way.But I am here to
tell you that I am not afraid,to walk that glorious pathway that
He so graciously made.So when my time has finally come to hold
our master's hand,I'll proudly walk right up to Him and
triumphantly take a stand.I'll say Lord,I want to thank you for
loving me till the end.I'm certain that He must have for giving
me such a friend.My life was headed down a path that far too
many take,I prayed for His forgiveness for all I did forsake.Then
one day my saviour came and will be with me untill the end,the
man who saved my life you see,was you my wise old friend.
