4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil4:4-7

Paul enjoins us here to rejoice! He goes on to repeat himself, ‘Again I say rejoice!
Why? If you’re wondering, ‘What do you mean?’ Did I hear you right, that I should rejoice in the midst of these circumstances?
‘Yes’, he says -regardless of the circumstances, rejoice- not for the circumstances but in spite of them.
‘But why? You may still insist
He goes on to say. Cool it. Relax. Peace! To the young or young at heart he says, ‘Chill out! Safe!’ And if you’re still cross-eyed, thinking ‘He needed to see a psychiatrist’, he goes on to hit the nail on the head: the Lord is near! He is in charge. He rules. He reigns. He is in complete control of the circumstances. Peace, be still, and know that I am God!
The Lord is present, more present that you think. Acknowledge Him.
He is the God who is ever and very present. (Ps46:1) He is Jehovah Shammah- the ever-present Lord.

The Secret to God’s Peace
Paul goes on to give us the secret to God’s peace, even in the storms of life. Storms come and storms go. But we need not be moved by the circumstances but by the word of God. Our God has the final word. He decrees and it stands. He commands and it comes into being.

The key to God’s peace is prayer-heart-felt prayer. Talk to the Father. Take whatever is disturbing your peace to the Master. Remind Him of His promises that are yes and Amen in Christ. If it is finance, remind Him that you are His sheep. He is your shepherd and provision belongs to the Shepherd. Silver and gold belong to Him, and so the cattle on the thousand hills. Tell Him to show you what to do that He can bless, because He said, ‘whatsoever He does shall prosper’(Ps1:3). Remind Him that Jesus was made poor that you might become rich in all respects and that He is not a man that He should lie neither the son of man that He should recant or renege on his promises.(2Cor8:9,Num23:19,Ps89:34)
If is on healing tell him how marvelous it is to know that Jesus died on the cross to take your sins and your sickness and disease and that by His stripes you were healed, over two thousand years ago. (Matt8:16,Isa53:4-5)
Thank Him that your body is His temple and no trespassers are allowed to alight or encroach on it. Thank Him for the healing stream and healing balm in His presence. (1Cor6:19, 2Cor6:16-18)
Regardless of what you see on your body or how you feel, give thanks to Him who enables you to call the things which be not as though they were. You walk by faith and not by sight. You believed and you have spoken and it shall be. Heaven and earth will pass away but the word of God will not return to Him empty. It shall accomplish what God desires, carry out His intents and purposes.(Rom4:17-18, Hab2:4, 2Cor5:7)
Speak to your body like Jesus did to the fig tree, to align itself to the word of the living God which is spirit and is life, medicine to you body. Command the sickness or disease to go! in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of the Living God, the Great Physician.

Cast down, pull down, root out every imagination welling up within you that tries to say the word of God will not work for you. Tell it to shut it! Let God be true and let every man and circumstance be a liar. Tell Satan and his cohort, “Get thee behind me! God is for me and no one can be against me. I am more than a conqueror through Christ. Nothing shall separate me from the love of Christ- not even this condition.(2cor4:10,Heb6:18, Matt4:8,-16:23,Mark8:33,Rom3:4, Rom8:31,32, 37-39)

Heaven hear my voice as I sing
O earth, listen as I praise my king
I waited and waited for so long
Now my God has given me a song.


I shall sing to my king in the night.
Not by my might but by His might
When I sit in darkness He shall send His light
Weeping shall give way to singing
Mourning shall give way to dancing

When you give thanks before the manifestation of your desire or the answer to your prayer, you are saying. ‘Father, You are a faithful God, who honours His word, stands by His word and would not let it fall to the ground. Your word is enough for me. You said you will alter the word that you have spoken or go against your covenant. I have confidence in your integrity, steadfastness, unchanging nature, power, graciousness, goodness and mercy. I rest my case in this knowledge. I refuse to fret or be anxious about anything.’(Mark11:23, Ex34:6, 2Chro 30:9,Neh9:17,31)
You go about you business and people who don’t understand will keep wondering why you are not tearing your hair out. They may be used by the enemy to remind you how bad things are but you keep speaking what the word says about you and the promise God has given you. They may say ‘Are you not worried?’ But you tell them He said I should cast all my cares on Him, because He cares for me and that’s what I am doing. (1Pet5:7)

And when you have finished this type of prayer, the peace of God come like a mighty umpire to mount guard on the door of your heart, warding off any intruders. You can sleep like a baby, like a well-fed child. You’re calm in the storm. In fact like the eagle you harness the upward draft of the wind current and use it to your advantage. And that which destroys other birds carries you to greater glory, greater level and greater exploits.
You begin to enjoy the storms because you know they carry hidden treasures.
( Isa40:28-31)You know they work for you rather than against you. You see them through God’s eyes. And you laugh at them. Alleluia!
