So You Call Yourself a Christian

So you call yourself a Christian
Do you really think it's so?

Now when the Lord does come
Are you sure with Him you'll go?

At Easter and at Christmas
Your obligation's done

The other fifty weeks
You forget about the Son!

Eternity is coming
Nearer for you today

But when you're left behind
"What's happened?" you will say!

I thought that I was free
To choose the life I live

For just one chance to try again
All I have I'd gladly give

Defenses fail me - as I look back
I know that I had heard

All hope now gone I wish I'd done
According to Your Word

Believed, confessed and embraced
The sacrificial Lamb

The One who showed what true love is
The wonderful I AM!
