God is like a tree…………

“Nature is the mirror of God”

After learning a crucial lesson from the Holy Spirit about depth , I tend to pay very careful attention to life’s lessons that point a direct finger of divine intervention from a direct God. I have come to the understanding that Depth is not about how much I know about God but rather how I know God.

That is why the following lesson I heard from my 8 yr old has intrigued me so.
Durban has been experiencing heat of an increasing proportion daily so every trip to the beach is coverted.A Saturday ago on such a day, we were off to the beach and whilst on the way , we discussed the importance of trees.

Well , here goes Hailey (8) telling me so boldly and confidently , Mum do you know that God is like a tree. So I responded with a “How so?”

The unraveling of her understanding revealed to me that from the mouth of babes and infants he (God ) has ordained praise.
Listen to the revelation of a 8 yr old’s understanding of the cross both wooden and bloodwashed .Hailey went on to say ,
A tree gives us oxygen and takes away the dirty air and it cleanses the air .
(She did not know it was called Carbon dioxide)
Just like God , he gave us Jesus and took away our sin and he cleanses us.

So that is why God is like a tree.

Well , what do you think of that? This profound indepth concept so accurately displayed by an infant is this message of salvation, simple enough for an eight year old and loving enough to a sinner.Who is like our God – there is no-one

The next time , you breathe or even gaze upon a tree , remember the great sacrifice of God’s only son sent to die on the cross to cleanse you of your sin .There is still room at the cross for you .Won’t you come
