Studying the Word
15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Tim2:15KJV


Concentrate on doing your best for God, work you won't be ashamed of, laying out the truth plain and simple. (The message)

15Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. (Amplified)

We are co-workers with God- His hands and feet here on earth. He delights to work in us to work through us. Unless we are yielded to Him He cannot use us.

H has given us His Holy Spirit who used holy men to write the Bible. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, Comforter and Helper and we need to rely on Him in our witnessing. He convicts people of sin and opens their eyes to see the need to invite Jesus into their lives.
He has come also to remind us of the scriptures as we go about witnessing.

However He can only remind us of what we have studied properly. Proper preparation prevents poor performance. This is very true. It mirrors what the scripture tells us; ‘Study to show yourself approved’.

We need to handle (teach) the word of God skillfully and analyze it accurately, and that comes with some effort. We study by reading, pondering, asking questions, comparing one scripture to another, differentiating one scripture from another, underlining key points, looking at different translations memorizing, singing, teaching, reviewing etc. etc.
And when we do, there is no doubt that the Holy Spirit would have something to remind us of when it is time to witness and we would not be ashamed.
