A triune being


Like GOD, mankind is a triune being. We are a spirit first, that lives in a body that possesses a soul. We as GODS created, HIS children and ones who love HIM, must understand this fact. To reverse the order of our creation would be like furnishing a newly built house before the walls are up. Let us look at what the WORD of GOD says about mankind.

SPIRIT FIRST:

Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

We are no different than Jeremiah, from the beginning of time each one of us, our spirit being was created for right here and right now.

BODY SECOND:

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

POSSESSING A SOUL:

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

King David understood the process, he knew that his spirit, or his fellowship with GOD came before everything else.

Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth
in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Yet so many confessing Christians think we are to feed our intellect first. Adhering to standards placed on us by the world is not pleasing to GOD. It’s not acceptable to GOD that we allow television to rules our lives, or that we read books that do not direct us toward HIM and HIS ways. Our families do not even have the right to come before our spiritual walk with GOD.

Then there are those of us that like to believe that we must feed our bodies first. Satisfying its wants, and desires, making us feel good in our lives. This is why addiction is at an all time high, it’s why people think all I want is more of everything, to heck with everyone else. This is why pornography is grossing in a higher income than the church receives to do the works of GOD.

Religion is at an all time high, because mankind has reversed the natural order of our creation for so long we think it is ok that we run out and buy the latest self help book. So many of us forget that the WORD of GOD is the only self help book required to achieve what GOD has intended. We think it is ok if we place GOD last on our priority list, that our jobs, our possessions and our family, among many other things, define who we are, and we have lost sight of the fact that our spiritual walk with GOD is our only defining attribute that GOD cares about.

GOD has not changed, HE still demands our utmost for HIS highest, HE still demands our devotion and commitment to HIM. HE still demands to have the highest priority in our lives, for us to recognize that HE is to have dominion in our hearts and minds, that our willingness to seek HIM be first and foremost in our hearts and minds, more than everything else in our lives combined.

HE has even promised to do all of this in us, if we will just be willing, if we will just seek HIS face more than anything else on earth.

Remember always, as Charles Spurgeon said “ our faith comes from where our focus lies.”

If our focus is on anything more than GOD, that is what we learn to live. We as GODS children must start feeding our spirit at all times, prayerfully seeking HIS wisdom and knowledge to live as HE wishes. Not as our greed, lust, selfishness, or want of a personal legacy may dictate. We must quit fooling ourselves into thinking that everything must be ok, that this person and that person is doing this so it has to be ok. And get back to the purpose of our created person, seeking GOD and walking at HIS side all the day long.

I pray that we all get back to the basics of GOD, and recognize our own selfishness and greed keeps us from HIS best for us, no matter our status and the amount of possessions we have.

We are the sole property of GOD to do HIS will and to further HIS purposes only, walking in habitual relationship and love with HIM in CHRIST JESUS. We were created spirit first and that is where our lives must be centered, if we are to even remotely expect to make it through this life into eternal life in HIS presence.
