FAITH

Now faith is assurance
Of what we can't see
And trust in God's promise
For things yet to be.

The center of thy faith
Must be Jesus, the Son.
Trust not thine own goodness
Nor deeds thou hast done.

Faith can move mountains,
Faith wins the race.
And when darkness surrounds you...
Faith sees God's grace.

MEEKNESS

Humble meekness, so hard to grow,
Means death to all I am.
She seeks to hide herself away
But shouts, "Behold the Lamb!"

Lord, crucify my flesh and pride.
May glory-seeking cease!
I'll join the prophet John who cried,
"Jesus must increase!"

A place of honor I shall not seek.
I choose to join the lowly meek.

TEMPERANCE

The Spirit's fruit of temperance...
A rare gift, indeed!
In a wicked generation
Ruled by passion, lust and greed.

A hungry god, this human flesh.
"I will not be denied!"
Everything it wants it takes,
Yet never satisfied!

But self-control becomes the saint
More than costly jewels.
"Moderation in all things,"
'Tis her golden rule.
