Runaway Life

What is it that makes us run from the very thing we need the most?
How is it that we think we can hide?
Hide from the God who created us?
Like Adam and Eve we hide those outer parts,
thinking the inside is hid too!

But somehow it always fallows us!
The hurt and pain of not letting anyone know
where we are in this life!
No one sees the sin so deep
That is hidden only from the world
For God sees it already!

When was the last time I stopped
To check my walk with Christ?
How long has it been sence I prayed,
The prayer of repentance?
knowing my sins are Great,
But my God is greater!

Downcast heart is telling
The story of a sinner
Who lost site of everything,
But the sin within this life.
Oh God what must I do
To be in your grace once again?

Forgive me Lord God
For my runaway life!
Teach me to seek you again.
And to stop living a lie!
I need the real You God,
To be my companion for all time!

I'm tired of being lead
By the things in this world
Seeking love, finding hurt.
Seeing nothing but rejection and confusion
When I seek anything but you.

Forgive me God, and teach me
Once again to turn to you!
You are still on the thrown
and no one can take your place.
I need you Jesus, my Savior, My all.
