Poetry
Within this velvet darkness
My soul is overwhelmed
As I near the end
Of the course that You have helmed
Between the olive branches
I bow upon my knees
I feel all nature groaning
From the boulders and the trees
This great sorrow presses inward
To the point of death
I struggle to keep my focus
It’s hard to find my breath
Oh my loving Father
This cup you had to fill
Can You take it from me
Not mine, but Yours I will
Those that you have given
They still don’t understand
Bless them as they slumber
Hold them in your hand
My God, I ask you please
This cup will you take
This sorrow presses stronger
I fear that I may break
Yes, Father I hear You
The cross it bears my name
This is to Your glory
I go to spread your fame

In the movie, "The Passion"
that moment when Christ Jesus
prays to His Holy Father in the moonlit garden is sweetly
sad, and a poignant time of
love and sacrifice. I wish
that I could write poetry!
You have a lot of talent!
