The Fun of NOT Fitting-in

Do you ever feel weird, unpopular, or you just don't fit-in? We all do at some time or another and it's perfectly natural. I feel like that constantly, but I like it. I know, your probably starring at the paper with your mouth wide open thinking' are you crazy!?' No, I'm not. I like being weird for two reasons. For one, why would I want to fit-in? Why would I want to be like the world around me? A world where babies are killed by the thousands, where teenagers become pregnant before marriage and Christians are persecuted and even killed because of their faith. Would you want to be like this? The second reason I like being weird is because other people will recognize this and wonder why, and maybe my life can be an example of Christ. Jesus was weird to. The Bible says in Hebrews 4:15 that 'He was in every way tempted as a man.' Jesus was like us. He was a teenager once and I'll bet He wanted to fit-in with other kids His age just like we do. But of course He didn't. He was God's son and remember He never sinned. I'll bet He was made fun of and called names because of that. But He never gave in to it. Wouldn't you rather be like Jesus? Boy, I sure would. I have a friend who is always telling me I'm weird. Do you know what I say? I say thank you. I'm thankful that I'm weird.
I'm also very blessed because I have God and He's the reason I'm weird. Isn't that the best reason in the world? So the next time someone accuses you of being weird, say thank you. You never know, maybe that person will become one of God's children because you were weird for Jesus. And that’s the fun of not fitting in.
