THINK ABOUT THIS

Think about this ...
Why do you want to write? Make a list of the different reasons.
Is God part of your writing efforts?
Make a concerted effort to seek God's will for your writing. Write a prayer to Him now, telling Him about your writing dreams or any current projects.
Closer to Him
"God gives us talent so that we can draw closer to Him." Francine Rivers, novelist
Have you ever thought of it that way? That God gave you writing talent so that you can become closer to Him? That your writing is not meant solely for your readers, editor, or even yourself?
Christians are given a variety of earthly talents and spiritual gifts. Some sing beautifully, others can preach and teach, some have a spirit of hospitality, other are great listeners, and some can paint and draw.
And some can write and communicate with others.
Why has God given His followers special gifts? Certainly it is to serve others, but it is also to grow closer to Him as we seek His will for our lives. If we seek God's will about our writing, then it is natural we will grow closer to Him. If we come daily to Him and share both our concerns and joys, it is obvious that we will come to know Him more.
How can our writing truly affect others and glorify God? Only if we put God first in our writing. Only if we use our writing as a stepping stone to becoming better friends with God.
Thank you, Lord, for giving me a gift for writing. I pray that you will guide my writing and watch over me as I write everyday.

A big Amen on this! Thanks.
