At times when God seems far away,
It is because I have gone astray.
Even in the midst of my despair,
I know Jesus is always there.

My emotions go through many changes.
In my heart, there is a battle that rages.
Then I hear Him whisper my name.
“My child, I love you just the same.”

He beckons me back to His throne,
Reminding me I am still His own.
He tenderly hears my every cry.
He listens, even when I ask why.

As I spend time with Him and on His Word feed,
My soul finds renewed strength in time of need.
I know there will be challenges that lie ahead,
But I can rest assured that by His hand I will be led.

God never promised me an easy road,
But that He will carry my heavy load.
When the trials of life come crashing in,
He gives me hope and peace within.

I do not know what tomorrow will bring,
But God has given me a new song to sing.
As I strive to focus on Him more and more,
My soul will find what it has been longing for.
