Clouds with no rain
I recently moved to a small country town in Georgia. I have noticed with the heat wave that has spread across the nation, this town seems to get a
lot of clouds but no rain. One day at work, a resident and me
were looking at dark clouds approaching, and he said I think
we are going to get a storm. I replied after thinking about it, wishful thinking. It seems in the last few weeks the pattern of clouds with no rain often brings anticipation of hoping it will rain on our flowers, grass and lower the temperatures of the heat wave. While reading on the Internet, as I often do, studying the word, I came across a scripture in Jude. Jude 12 niv: 12These men are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead. After reading
this scripture, it seems the weather is speaking to us about our shepherds of this day. They are constantly draining people of their finances with the “prosperity message”. They are only feeding themselves and causing a spiritual famine on the sheep. I have not attended a church service since I have moved, and have not been with a church body in a few years.
I leave services feeling empty and starving for spiritual food, when I do attend.
Studying the scripture a little further I realized God gives us a word about blemishes. In 2 Peter niv: 14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. A blemish is a spot as we all know, and Christ is looking for a church without spot or blemish. These supposedly men, preachers, or shepherds are secretly sneaking in our churches infecting our Christians. We call them false prophets and false teachers. The word goes on to say, “blown along by the wind.” In Ephesians 4:14 niv: 14Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Here it tells us how we are infants if we are blown here and there by every wind. So it is safe to say that these so called shepherds are immature or infants. As a body of believers, we cannot grow spiritually by being fed by these preachers. Scripture also tells us because of our own lust, God will send delusions. 2 Thessalonians 2: 10-11 niv: 10and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie. Notice in verse 10, they refused to love the truth and be saved. In Mathew it tells us about the parable of the sower and how along the way Satan comes and steals the word before it gets planted into the peoples hearts. The enemy comes to steal kill and destroy, and people are not getting saved and are deceived into thinking they are. In this delusion we are using Mathews scripture on the parable of the sower, as a device to get money and not souls. We are warned in the word on many occasions of Satan’s devices and due to our ignorance he steals many souls from the Kingdom of God.
I know in this materialistic world, if one of our possessions gets stolen, we are calling the police and letting everyone know of our loss. It is hard to even compare our souls to this scenario, but we don’t even recognize the souls being stolen from us much less calling on God’s believers to help draw them back. I was deceived for a long time by these shepherds, and now I have to constantly be aware of this happening again. Read the word and know your enemy. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. God needs watchmen in the body of believers as never before. Someone who will pray, watch and warn us before the enemy attacks. Next time we see clouds with no rain, maybe this will remind us of the deception that is so ramped in the world we live in.
