2Kings 4:1-2
The Widow's Oil
1 The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves."
2 Elisha replied to her, "How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?"
"Your servant has nothing there at all," she said, "except a little oil."

The widow in this story had fallen on bad hard times. She had lost her husband and her creditors have sent the bailiffs have come to take her children. It was a desperate situation. There appeared to be no hope.
What she had looked nothing in the natural. But little is much when God is in it.
As she obeyed the prophet, the little oil she had did not fail until all the jars she borrowed were full she was then told to go and sell the oil and pay her debts.

Obedience brings miracles. The ridiculous leads to the miraculous.

Let us pray:
Father, I thank you for your word that remains true.
There is no hopeless situation with You, because You are the God of hope.
I cast all my cares on You because You care for me. I put into your hands what I have and trust you to make it more than enough; for You are the god who is more than enough in Jesus’name. amen.
