Oh Lord! How long?
How long will my heart be shattered daily
By those who don’t understand that you
Have caused me to love them
Even when their actions are
Hatred aimed toward me.

How long, Oh Lord?
Will you allow me to be made to feel this way
In this suddenly strangely foreign land
Where no one wants to know
They are supposed to love you
They simply refuse to see.

Oh Lord! How Long?
How long will you allow the deceiver
To destroy the lives of the people
Whom you hold dear and created
In your own image to love
How long Lord will it be?

How long, Oh Lord?
Oh I fear that time is wasting
This place is surely changing
So few are truly caring
Many tears I have cried
Yet I imagine yours fills the sea.

Oh Lord! How Long?
Help me Lord to keep reaching
To do all that I can to keep speaking
To those who don’t know your grace
Who continue ignoring your mercy
Oh Lord, hear my plea!

How Long, Oh Lord?
Before my Savior returns
I’ll get to see your heavenly face
Forever to be through with this place
Help those I love to be set free
Then together we’ll spend eternity
Forever with Thee!

Even so, Come Lord Jesus, Come!
