I thought about how a car runs down
and what it takes to keep it up
For if it's low on oil, it affects the motor
then you have to refill the cup

When the tank gets empty, just look out
it may jerk and ride a few feet
But soon you'll know, it's out of gas
and there you are on side of the street

Did not the meter give a warning
was not the hand, pointed to the-E?
So what else could, the car but do
but, to abandon you and me

This gave me a thought about myself
for Salvation has works with it too
So I'll keep my filling soul, with the word
for that's needed to get me through

On the car you need to have good tires
for who gets joy in changing a flat
so who wants to be burden and heavy laden
when we have the word to go to bat

Does a car not have it's signal lights
and have brakes when you need to stop
One of it's use, is to make safe one's journey
but, God's word is sure hard to top

For his warnings are plain and simple
and they are made to last forever
No need to worry, of having a breakdown
God's service is guarantee, whatever the weather
