Are there limits on how many times we have to forgive someone?

'Even if he wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, forgive him.' (Luke 17:4 NLT). Other versions read seventy times seven. No, there is no limit to this and we must forgive because we have been forgiven.

No matter what happened in your past, or who did what, you must extend your hand in forgiveness. I would venture to say that the person you are forgiving will place their hand in yours, at least 95% of the time, and then you can both move forward in your lives in peace. If they don't, gently keep trying. You cannot know another's heart. Maybe there are pieces missing
from your recollections, especially if you were a child. Maybe you need to go back from the adult place you stand in now, and see things from a new perspective.

If you never have occasion to set things right, still you must forgive whatever wrong you feel has been done to you. This is for you, not for them. Grudges will weigh you down, hold you back, stop you from reaching your goals.

Our God gives us a new start every morning. Every
day.

Forgive. Forgive the other people. Forgive yourself. And move on with the Light you have received.
