We have fallen and are not afraid to fall again
With each fall, we are humbled and made stronger
With each fall, a step is taken
Towards peace, towards fulfillment, towards victory

Each one fallen, each one a step
The fallen victories that lie within us
They are our sons, our brothers, our fathers, our husbands,
Our daughters, our sisters, our mothers, our wives
But mostly, our friends.

Victory cannot come without sacrifice
Sacrifices have been made
Most importantly, an ultimate sacrifice
Paid by one: completely man, completely God

This ultimate sacrifice creates the ultimate victory
Now Lord, who is Victorious, I pray not for victory
But for the courage and determination
Needed for the task at hand

Whether our fear and evil are named Osama, Hussein, or by some other name
We know the Victor--not the United States of America
But the one true Son who sees all
Even more so than the sun in the sky
For we know a Son that never sets.
