In the battle fearless she stands,
To her blood thirsty army she barks her commands.
She can feel it now, the end is near,
To her surprise what does she hear?
A single gunshot rings in her ears,
The enemy has taken her, made true her fears.
She awakens in a icy cell,
She knows she must be in the bowels of Hell.
The enemy watches with a sneer,
He tells her how the end is near.
They torture her with great delight,
She doesn’t talk, she doesn’t fight.
The eyes of her lover fresh in her mind,
She feels nothing, to the pain she is blind.
Then on her final day,
They punish her in the worst sort of way.
They take her to a city street,
She knows that’s were Death she will meet.
At the end she looks out into the crowd,
Though the crowds are thick and the chants are loud.
She sees her lover watching helplessly in the mob,
He can’t save her, that’s not his job.
As he watched the life go from her eyes,
He wanted to die, he was tempted to take of his disguise!
And show them all what she died to save,
Tell them that to her love he was a slave!
Then as he thought his life seemed to pause,
His lover died for a cause.
She was in the world they fought to create,
In life and in death she would be his mate.
As he left that place he felt the love so true,
Because he went as one and left as two.
