Pass It On!

The hardest thing to say to people is not I love you, I apologize, nor will you forgive me; these days it is May I pray for you? What do you suppose would happen if we took the time to make an act of prayer intercession a key focus of our day? I would like to challenge each reader to make a concentrated effort for one day, then one week, one month or one year to say a prayer for someone right at the moment of your encounter. It doesn’t have to be a long drawn out eloquent sermon, just a brief prayer focusing on the needs of the person at the time you are communicating with them. It is not necessary to know their troubles; you can just pray for God’s peace, comfort, joy, provision, health and strength to carry them through their week. The next time you are on the phone don’t hang up without asking if they wouldn’t mind if you said a brief word of prayer with them or for them. When someone calls to chat about another person’s business; stop the gossip and tell them to join you in a prayer for the person whose business is of interest to them. “Watch God move.” When the person of your current attraction wants to make you swoon on the phone about subjects not appropriate outside of a marriage commitment, request a time out to say a prayer for God’s guidance in your every decision. “Watch God move some things in order.” This exercise will blow your mind and transform the hearts and minds of those close to you. It will tare down walls, open up their spirit to be ministered to by God and it will return a harvest of blessings to your soul. Don’t tell them you are going to keep them in your prayers; this is only half of the job. People need to hear us communicate with God on their behalf.

Our faith, confidence in God’s power, will encourage their hearts to believe God cares and loves them enough to answer a prayer for them. The receiver of the prayer will leave with God’s anointing covering their life and heart. They may even believe enough to pray for themselves or another. “Pass it on”; is passing on the power of God through prayer. You are passing on Power, Authority, Strength, and Service through this exercise.

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
