Truly, Lord, the mature depend on You,
For they see their weakness, and Your strength,
Their folly, and Your wisdom;

They have passions and fears,
Yet Your Word is the guide for them;
They do not hold to anything that is not of You;

They have plans and dreams,
But Your way, Your will is right;
It alone stands;

They love others, and are others-oriented,
Yet they are not swayed by others,
For Your judgments prevail;

They are not swayed by the face of men;
Truth is their guide, and live by its conviction;
They speak so, and all else is left in Your hands;

They are not shocked by sin,
For that is the way of the self-righteous and proud;
The mature know Your grace for them, with its mercy;

The mature are childlike, without being childish;
They have a love that has thrown off childish things,
And their love is found in Your trust;

They have no façade, their countenance is ever bold,
Yet gentle;

Great is Your work in those who are steadfast in You!
