Poetry
I remember that day,
Not too long ago.
She gazed at me with tear-struck eyes,
And then I heard her say.
"I never want to leave you,
Out here all alone,
But you know I have no choice,
You're the only family I ever knew.
I'm sorry I depraved my baby
Of a loving family.
If only we could meet again,
Someday soon, maybe.
I want to let you know,
That I will always love you.
I'm sorry I can't be there,
To stay and watch you grow.
I hope that God will somehow hear,
The prayers I pray for you.
I ask that He will show you,
That I'm always near.
I'll be there in the tough times,
The times of pain and tears.
But I'll also be there in the joy,
And you'll always be mine.
I guess it's time to tell you,
The decision that I've made.
There's a loving family out there,
Someone to love you, too.
Now please don't be mad at me,
I don't have any choice.
I hope that someday, someday soon.
You will finally see.
I love you, and it's hard to show,
That I want you as my own.
But certain things have come to this,
Please, I want you to know.
I'm too young to be a mother,
I'm too old to be a child.
I want you to find happiness,
Even if it's with another.
I did something very wrong,
Something I shouldn't have done.
And now I live with consequences,
But you are still my song.
It's not your fault, I promise you,
You did nothing wrong.
My family now despises me,
They judged me because of you.
It's so hard to go,
But I should be leaving now.
Sleep now little one,
I won't be here tomorrow.
My last words to you will be,
I hope we meet again.
I wish with all my might
That someday you will see.
I would give everything I had
To spend one more day with you.
I love you so very much.
Love, your Mom and Dad."
I see her walking out the door,
She lays me down to sleep.
Somehow I can't find peace inside,
I want to see her more.
My heart aches to see her,
Just one minute of my life.
If I could call out, Please come back!
Without a doubt, she would.
I'm sorry If I hated you,
For what you did to me.
I knew that I could never find,
Real peace if I stayed with you.
I pray that God's sufficient mercy
Will somehow find you, I pray.
For I will always love you
For ever and for eternity.

Is this real? I'm actually stunned that one who had gone through a seperation with her mother would write something so touchy and forgiving. I see how blessed I am and how much I take God's grace for granted... the beautiful grace of growing up with my parents. I think I could go on reading this, on and on....
A touching but lovely read. Thomas
