The visions and sounds, seen in the Middle-East brings to mind what Jesus told the Religious Leaders in John 10:1-5, “I assure you, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! For a shepherd enters through the gate. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they recognize his voice. They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t recognize his voce”.

Many voices are speaking, internally as well externally, on the current Middle-East situation. Who voices do they represent? The Good Shepherd or The Thief? Jesus said in John 10:14 I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me. Verse 9 “Yes, I’m the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. Wherever they go, they will find green pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal, kill and to destroy’.

One thing is for certain, I see only bloodshed and destruction and not to many voices asking, “Where are the green pastures”? I guess this current conflict is just one of many in a long history of Mankind trying to resolve there selfish, greedy and out-of-control behaviors. I guess Jesus ran into this behavior a lot. Later in John 10:31 we read “Once again the Jewish leaders picked up stones to kill him”. Verse 32 “Jesus said, At my Father’s direction I have done many things to help the people. For which one of these good deeds are you killing me”? As the writer continues we find that Jesus once again slips away across the Jordon River, to preach where John had first perform baptizing.

Somehow, this current conflict will began to stabilize, with the voice of the Good Shepherd and not the Thief!
