Faith

In spite of the billows on the ocean wide,
My life is still priceless, invaluable and counts.
My boat may be small on the ocean wide,
But with God on my side I will surmount.

I have come too far to run and hide.
I draw strength from the river of His blood, my fount.
My fear with God I confide, for my tears to subside;
And faith He gives plus eagle’s wings to mount.

I shun all gloating in foolish pride,
And run from the mark for the prize.
With God’s wind on my side, I take a bold stride.
With Jesus in my boat it will not capsize.

My hands I put in the Hands of the Almighty,
He will take me to the other side.
My life counts, regardless of what I see.
In the Rock I hide, in the Word I abide.

With eyes of faith, the Saints of old I see,
Subject to like weakness yet crossed the rough tides.
Their testimony a legacy , I can see,
To fuel me, propel me, whatever betide.

Come, Comforter, my Guide.
Come, Strengthener, my strength;
Shield the Bridegroom and the Bride.
Show your love, endless in length.
