More Stars
Are there more stars up there,
in the heavens this night?
Or is that proof to my eyes
that You have changed my sight?
I fear I’ve fallen short
in, oh, so many ways.
But there’s something I’m learning
so very well these days.
Truly, it is by grace
that I remain in You.
Salvation comes by nothing
that I could ever do.
Though I can’t count them all,
You know them all by name
and You have required of me
to love them all the same.
Help me lay me down, Lord.
It’s just so hard to do.
Yet, I know it’s possible.
Lord, all things are with You.
Help me lay me down, Lord,
so You can live in me
and love the stars You have made
and the sands of the seas.
This one thing I desire,
to love them like You do.
But Lord, that is Your command -
to love them and love You.
Are there more stars up there,
in the heavens this night?
Or is that proof to my eyes
that You have changed my sight?
