Encouragement

I am writing this today to give everyone that has followed my writing here on Faith Writers, an update as to what has happened to my daughter and in my family.

If you have read my writings here on FaithWriter’s or visited my website, you will know that my family has been in a major struggle! My eldest daughter was engulfed in the drug scene for two years, and it ripped my heart out daily!

Many of you have prayerfully supported my family as we walked the Crystal Meth journey with her. You’re prayers and emails filled with encouragement have gotten me through many moments, when I wasn't sure I'd make it.

Through it all, I can honestly say that the Lord has richly blessed my family! I have witnessed, first-hand, God’s love, mercy and grace! I have watched the power of prayer dramatically change my family, from the youngest to the oldest! We have learned to let go of self-pity and shame, and rejoice in the fact that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever!

The testimony today is of God’s incredible love! Both of my children are serving the Lord! Sixty-four days ago my oldest made a decision to walk away from the drug scene! The first few days were difficult, but as she began to surrender to God, I saw a butterfly breaking through a cocoon.

We are walking this journey together; the three of us, and God is healing and restoring my family! My heart sings as I watch them grow in the Lord and be renewed by His Spirit! As I witness the power of forgiveness in their lives, I understand a bit more today than I did yesterday!

There has always been a plan! God has never left us! The path we have been on for the last several years led us to today! We are stronger in the Lord than we were when we started! We are more determined today, than we were even yesterday, to finish the course!

Ours is a testimony of God's mercy and love. A confirmation that prayer works and God is STILL GOD!

I thank God everyday for those that were called to pray for us! I thank God everyday for those of you who emailed words of encouragement! You were the Aarons and Hurs! You held up our arms when we were weary!

The battle is not over! We recognize that the enemy of our soul is incredibly angry! But I declare today that WE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED! WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT THIS SPIRITUAL BATTLE!
