I Trust YOU Lord
by Brenda Bates

Show me the way Lord
Today, like many others,
I find myself tormented by my past.
I’ve tasted the bitterness of divorce;
I’ve cried the tears of loneliness.
I’ve looked into the eyes of confused children
searching for answers that I couldn’t give;
yet I trust You Lord to show me the way.

Comfort my heart Lord
Today, like many others,
I find myself needing Your loving embrace.
I’ve sat with a friend who was dying;
I’ve cried the tears of grief.
I’ve looked into the eyes of the survivors
being at a loss for words to speak;
yet I trust You Lord to comfort my heart and theirs.

Shine Your light on me Lord
Today, like many others,
I find myself needing You more.
I’ve felt the pains of not having You in my life;
I’ve cried the tears of yearning.
I’ve looked into the eyes of Christians
who are confused, hungry, and burning;
yet I trust You Lord to shine Your light on me.

Help me to know Lord
Today, like many others,
I find myself doubting that I’m on the right path.
I’ve doubted my mission that is so graciously guided;
I’ve cried the tears of disbelief.
I’ve looked into my eyes in moments of need
and found You as my great release;
and I trust You Lord to help me to know.

Show me Your love Lord
Today, like many others,
I find myself knowing that the best is yet to come.
I’ve experienced the laughter that comes from pleasure;
I’ve cried the tears of glee.
I’ve looked into Your eyes as You hung on the cross
because of Your love for me;
and I trust You Lord to continue to show me Your love.

Shine Your Everlasting Light on me.

[My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me. Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love. Psalm 31:15-16 ]

Hi Brenda, I enjoyed reading tthis beautiful piece from your heart. Because you have spoken about others too, if you wish I encourage you to add them to in your prayer...I have put the suggestion in brackets and you can follow thru on the others if interested. This way you are also interceding to God for others.....
