"What is this?"
(I dare not question)
You call me to seek answer to the question
From which provoked my soul's inquiry
Pulling me away from worldly desires
I seek the One who touches my heart with a grip
not releasable by any hands.
You have me in a place where looking back
to my old land
seems bland.

I'm tasting the goodness of true health
Oily foods rich for indulging
does not satisfy my hunger any longer,
I'm eating of fruitfulness that's making me stronger-
Fruits of the Spirit.

You're embracing a young woman
Who once longed for a manly companion
more than anything else-
What your giving me
Is a tall drink of intimacy.
Oh how deeply you've wanted this
life long experience for me;
for what I truly thirst for
Can not be quenched by man.

In a short time
You've shared various plans with me-
I thought I'd never know;
Pre- the rest in bed
where on my pillow lay my head
invite me to converse the things
I once chose to remain in a darkened place-
My secrets are not revealed to shame
But washed with blood meant not to stain
And clothe me in a gown
Arrayed in your countenance,
Assuring me that time is not my qualification
Neither is works.
Tucking me to sleep
And softly expressing your Fatherhood.

Arising from sleep
Almost sorrowful to be removed from this state
You confirm Your presence to be with me still,
and joy comes with the morning.
My mind ponders
"What is this?" -
- But why must I question?
And as before You welcome the inquiry.
Hesitation falls upon my ears
but my heart's eager to know the answer.
Your Spirit gently gestures,
I AM your food your drink and rest
do not reduce to nothing less
Day has come
This is a new season.
