Angels on assignment
Direction and Protection
God can also use angels to direct or protect
It is true that angels are rare to see these days but we must not dismiss angelic divine direction. Let God be God. What we need to do is to test the spirit and see if they are of God. (1Thess. 5:21) No angel from God will tell you to do something contrary to the word of God. That would be an angel from hell and must not be countenanced. God can use total strangers who suddenly come into our lives for a specific assignment and leave soon after they have accomplished their mission. These people, whilst not angels, are like angels. We must not go after them when they have finished their work but give the glory to God. God will not share His glory with anyone.
God used an angel to deliver the disciples who were imprisoned who then commanded them to go and continue to preach the word of life.

. 17Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. 18They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. 19But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. 20"Go, stand in the temple courts," he said, "and tell the people the full message of this new life." (Acts5:17-20)

An angel was also used to release Peter from jail.
So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
6The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. 7Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists.
8Then the angel said to him, "Put on your clothes and sandals." And Peter did so. "Wrap your cloak around you and follow me," the angel told him. 9Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. 10They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.
11Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I know without a doubt that the Lord sent his angel and rescued me from Herod's clutches and from everything the Jewish people were anticipating." Acts12:5-11
Divine Consolation and Protection
Again an angel was used to comfort and reassure Paul when he was taken on sea to defend himself. 21After the men had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up before them and said: "Men, you should have taken my advice not to sail from Crete; then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss. 22But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed. 23Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me 24and said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.' 25So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. 26Nevertheless, we must run aground on some island."Acts27:21-26

So God has not changed.(Mal3:6, Heb13:8) Angels may be a rarity, nevertheless God can still use them and does use them. He said in his word that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him. (Ps34:7)
He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. (Ps91:11)
Angels are ministering spirits called to minister to those who are heirs of salvation. (Heb:14 )
Do not pray to angels but to God in the name of Jesus, but expect angels on assignment in your behalf. Speak God's word in faith to galvanize them in to action in your behalf. God's word is angel food. it energizes them, propels them, compels them to excel for you.
