There are things that can stop one's growth
keeping us from reaching the top
But we have the promise's, from God's word
that can bring them to a stop
Keep your focus clear and not look back
press forward to the prize that awaits
Work on the new, the bad you can't undo
and you will see that God is never late
We can bury bitterness, and don't be un-forgiving
Say to it, you've been around long enough
and this is the year, of cleaning up my house
though in the past, I admit, it was tough
Lets take sorrow's, to the curve
and tell sadness, you no longer can ride
for every one, of God's promise's...
are still around, and very much alive
Now tell anger to take a hike
Put misery on the run
Look frustration, in the face
and say, you're over and done
Move negative from your doorsteps
Open to the positive and let it enter in
Conquer defeat, put it under your feet
and claim victory, deep within
Say good-by to all those backed failures
Say hello, to the riches of life
Kick pride out the door and bid humbleness in
and let us chop up all that strife
Renew your minds with thoughts of peace
Let not fear control your days
Open up to God and let Him be the driver
for He works, in so many ways
Let this new year begin, with a change of heart
Bag up the old and throw it out
Be in tune to good things, that can happen
and tell doubt, you will win the bout
So lets speak to our situations
and no more let them get us down
Pull out the word of God and use it
then those problems, won't hang around
