The faces of my family stare at me with such intent
The eyes of their souls speak without a blink or a flinch

Behind every frame and behind every photo
Comes a story of life 10 in total

Beginning with the matriarch the kindess soul you’ll meet
But she will protect her family against the predator she meets

Then there are her four cubs that she has brought forth to be
The extension of her lineage, the branches of her tree

Four souls connected by the Matriarch’s one womb
But the paths of these four souls is a weaver’s loom

Intricate and detailed full of ins and outs
Not always the best of siblings, no doubt

United by blood and united by our Mother
There came forth the little ones that I call “The Others”

The others are the little faces that smile from the frames
5 in all and blessed in the same

The third generation, the grandchildren they be
And grand they are to this family tree!

Blessed we are of God I tell you it’s true
Even though the photos and frames of our family are but few
