Flower of Eden

I came to you beneath the canopy
a green majestic fortress
against subtle light
leaking before the sunrise

Crackles were my footsteps
over brambled branches that once held me down
amidst the sounds
heard in the yearning years before me

You called to me
across the valley of my misfortunes
I beckoned to the sound of your voice

You are all around me
intoxicating my senses
embracing me with the lilt silky shallows
beneath your fragrance

Entwine me beneath your petals
so that I may bloom in your spirit
bathing with you, renewed
in the dewdrop that settles
beneath this canopy of green
in your majestic fortress

I could sing to you forever
in the promise of the sunrise
with those yearning to be found
that will be counted
among the blossoms
in the early morning forest
