A while back, I was shopping when I ran into a good friend. We hadn’t seen each other in a month so we were quite busy catching up on the news of our lives.
As I was shopping and talking, I noticed a lady screaming and frantically waving her arms. “What’s wrong with her?” I asked my friend, quite annoyed at her distraction.
I continued talking as I pushed my shopping car when suddenly, the woman jumped in between us and yelled, “Stop! Thief!”
How dare she call me a thief, I thought to myself. How dare she cause such a scene as all eyes were on me!
Then I looked down and realized I was pushing HER shopping car with HER child and HER purse. I realized my mistake and instead of apologizing or being concerned for this mother, my mind went quickly to.... what thief had MY shopping car with MY children and MY purse? I ran off shouting, “Stop! Thief!”
