OBEDIENCE AND BLESSIN
"If you keep the commandments of
the LORD your God and walk in His ways. . .
the LORD will grant you plenty of goods,
in the fruit of your body,
in the increase of your livestock,
and in the produce of your ground,
in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you."
DEUTERONOMY 28:9, 11 NKJV
Obedience has its blessings, Lord. Though I can't give my heart to You only for those blessings, Lord, when I honestly seek to obey You, You may overwhelm me with Your generosity.
You've already given me so much to be thankful for, Jesus. I thank You for family, work, and food on my table. No matter how much I have, as long as I have been faithful, You have always presented me with everything I need.
Keep me obedient to You today, Lord.
And the king loved Esther above all the women, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Esther must have wondered why her cousin Mordecai, who had raised her after her parents' death, had brought her to this pagan king, but she knew You had a purpose and was obedient to the man who raised her. As You planned, the king fell in love with the young Jewish girl and made her his wife. You knew that her obedience and brave actions would save the lives of all the Jews in the kingdom, including herself and Mordecai, but she would not know that until later. I usually do not know why my life takes sudden turns for the good or the bad, Lord. All I can do is serve You faithfully—whether in a palace or an apartment—until Your plan for my life is revealed.
