My life is shaped everyday by how I’m living.
I desire others to see me as giving.
However, others just see me as a background.
I’m just someone who doesn’t have much of a sound.

My soft voice can still make waves in a sea of ears.
Sometimes my voice can be quite loud despite my fears.
Other times my voice is stilled in the presence of truth.
Truth that doesn’t necessarily run on visible proof.

My spoken opinions often reach the closed mind.
Different outlooks on life are not always too kind.
Look past my opinion to see I’m much like you.
I’m just a person whose days are numbered too few.

Until then, my soft voice is the background for me.
I share my views openly to those who don’t flee.
My life is shaped everyday by how I’m living.
My sound may be small but it’s the world I’m given.
