Larry Lilly's Letter Wednesday June 14, 2006

"You get some strange ideas" thus went the comments from a reader who never has any sort of idea. I do admit to being one of those poor/blessed people who is able to see truth in unusual situations. Take today's article for instance.

I have never been a real fan of Brittany Spears, and became even less so when she hooked lips with Madonna. Now she has announced that she has changed religion again. She admits to growing up Baptist, but obviously missed the point or correctly, the Person of the Baptist faith, and upon meeting the awesomely religious Madonna became a convert and student of occult Judaism known as Kabbalah. A real mystic mind you. The gossip columnists have it that Madonna is really ticked, I suppose in Kabbalah it is alright to be ticked and want the religious gifts she had bestowed on Brittany returned. This mentality is not allowed but is practiced in Baptist circles.

Brittany wrote on her Web site, "I no longer study Kabbalah, my baby is my religion."

Many of my friends are exultant over Brittany's renunciation of the false religion Kabbalah. Several articles have stated such.

I know you are about to explode with anticipation and you, in the deepest enclave of your soul simply must know my, Larry Lilly's, opinion of the 'answer' to prayer. Well, hang on honey cause here it comes.

Why on earth would any sane person be overcome with joy when a ninnie exchanges one form of goofy religion for another?

Goofy? Religion?

Yes sir re Bob.

The cult of the child.

You will be amazed after reading this article if you will take the time to observe supposedly mature men and women, oh please do not forget the women, who are 'into' the manifold ritual of the 'Cult of MY BABY.'

Admittedly, I am an old grouch, and grouch is refined compared to being referred to as the sound of wind breaking the sound barrier. But I seem to recall a seminary professor teaching my then tender ears that what is truly good for the parent would by its very nature be good for the child. I have lost count of the otherwise sensible people who reverse this in matters of faith. It used to get me really ticked and then I realized that a pastor is not permitted within the framework of our faith to experience such pagan feelings, so I no longer engage in such base emotions.

I am happy that in America we cannot be forced to become fanatical adherents to worshiping someone else's baby. When the children of the Great Blonde and I were young we worshiped Jesus. I do admit to near wavering when the Great Blonde converted to the 'Cult of MY GRANDCHILDREN.' We sure need a revival in this country.
