Poetry
Isn't it funny how time goes by
a childhood gone in the blink of an eye
The callow eyes I once looked through
now see a different point of view
Those carefree days that used to be
are now merely a memory
And all those games we used to play
will never see the light of day
The innocence that we once new
the caution to the wind we threw
Like all the silly plans we made
now memories that slowly fade
And looking back to times that were
seem nothing more than just a blur
My life would be the cat's meow
if I knew then what I know now
I'll leave the past though, where it lies
without regret or alibis
For now I only count the ways
and look ahead to better days
