Keeper of My Joy
I will lift my hands today,
refusing what the enemy would say,
and I know that God hears me pray.
So, He lifts my heavy chin.
Falling in love a little deeper
with my Joyous Keeper,
I wonder why I ever gave in.
Past failures snicker at my hopelessness
and doubt plays around with my dreams.
Often, I succumb to my loneliness.
Though, nothing is really as it seems.
I will lift my hands today,
refusing what the enemy would say,
and I know that God hears me pray.
So, He lifts my heavy chin.
Falling in love a little deeper
with my Joyous Keeper,
I wonder why I ever gave in.
For somewhere deep in my heart, I’m aware
that I have never been alone,
that my world has been filled with beauty rare
and I am heir to a perfect throne.
I will lift my hands today,
refusing what the enemy would say,
and I know that God hears me pray.
So, He lifts my heavy chin.
Falling in love a little deeper
with my Joyous Keeper,
I wonder why I ever gave in.
My Father, Keeper of My Joy, can’t lie.
Every Word that He says is true.
I know I’m going to live and not die,
for I am one of the chosen few
who will lift my hands today,
refusing what the enemy would say,
and I know that God hears me pray.
So, He lifts my heavy chin.
Falling in love a little deeper
with my Joyous Keeper,
I wonder why I ever gave in.
He is the faithful Keeper of My Joy.
I laugh when I would otherwise cry.
I’ll not give in to the enemy’s ploy.
I’m a blood-bought child of The Most High.
I will lift my hands today,
refusing what the enemy would say,
and I know that God hears me pray.
So, He lifts my heavy chin.

with my Joyous Keeper,
I wonder why I ever gave in.
