Juat A Few Moments,
Hope Again

St. John 4:13-14
Jesus answered and said unto her, whosoever drink of this water shall thirst again:
But whosoever drink of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Psalms 42:5 & 11
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Although we cannot feel him sometime, we can still see his face because of the hope that we have in him. He might not be saying anything to me, but I still know that he is there. It is God that keeps us and not we our self. We can praise him just for keeping us. He made us and he knows all about us.

Predicated upon our text, we will take a subject, Just A Few Moments, Hope Again.

Few - consisting of or amounting to only a small number. A special limited number. Some but not many.

Moments - a minute portion or just at that point in time, a brief period of time, present time.

Hope - to cherish a desire with anticipation with the expectation of acquiring it, expect with confidence, belief in fulfillment, success in receiving what you are hoping for, not saying he might go and he might not.

Again - another time, once more, on the other hand there is another matter to consider.

We lose hope because of a few moments of pleasure or sin. We might have the best of men or women and the best of sex, but a lifetime has been lost. Why gain the world and lose your soul. Even in the midst of all the turmoil of life, we can still hope again in just another few moments. It only takes a few moments to meet Jesus. Jesus met the Samarian Woman at the well and he gave her something she had never had before. He was the seventh man, the perfect one, the only man men will fall in love with and the best man any woman could ever want. Jesus is the hope for the world today. With him you can grab hold, grip a solid foundation and take hold of the rock, Jesus the hope of glory.

Jesus promised us living water, the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was going through Samaria, a city and a region in the heart of Palestine, after he left Judea and Galilee, when he became wearied. He took a seat on Jacobs Well. Afterward he had a visitor, a Samarian woman. I can imagine she didn't know that finally she had met a man that would do her good. He asked her to draw him some water, for he was alone. She asked him, how could he being a Jew, ask her for a drink. Well Jesus just wanted a few moments of her time. He always goes against tradition. Traditionally the Jews had no dealings with the Samaritans, because the Samaritans actually hated Jews and the Jews would usually take an alternate route around Samaria.

Jesus answered her and said, "if thou knew the gift of God and who it is that said to her, give me drink, she would have asked him to give her living water".

She would not only be experiencing life in the natural, but a spirit filled life that makes you alive. He is life, he is a light, and he is the truth. No man comes to the Father but by him. He was a man that was better than life itself because where he takes you, you would want.

Jesus took just one moment to offer her hope again. She didn't originally understand what Jesus was offering her and she answered him saying, she had nothing to draw water with and the well was deep, so she wondered where and how was he going to give here living water. She asked him if he was greater than her father Jacob that gave the well? Jesus told her that whosoever drinks of that well, will thirst again. She would have a fulfilling thirst that continually, time and time again give you hope. Imagine just in one moment, you can obtain a lifetime of hope. When she asked Jesus to give her that everlasting life, we know that since she didn't know whom Jesus was, that she wasn't ready to give up her unrighteousness. The hope test came. Jesus told her to call her husband. One thing that hope will do is cause, you will tell the truth. She said she had no husband. Jesus went on to tell her about her life. Thou have well said, "I have no husband". She had five husbands and the one she had now was not her husband. She perceived that Jesus was a prophet. How do we perceive Jesus. To obtain the hope of eternal life we must be truthful to God. Just in a few moments she could have chosen to lie about her husband. Jesus, the all knowing son of God knew the answer already. In that one moment she could have lost the hope of seeing God, or ever being changed, a renewed life, the blessed promises of God.

This confession of truth allowed Jesus to minister grace to her soul. In just one moment we could miss out on grace. We need God's mercy because we too do not always do as God command us in his word. Once you have had that first real moment with him you can never ever be the same. She came to him one way, but she left another way. The weight of sin in her life was weighing her down, but Jesus loosed the weight of sin off of her and set her free. She found that she was free in spirit and ran and told everyone she met, come see a man that gave me a renewed life. She testified and preached to the men and led them to Christ. This encounter, though Jesus was wearied and tired, revived his own spirit when in one moment he realized the weaknesses of men and what his mission for coming to the earth was. When his disciples returned and cried; master, eat, he told them that he have meat to eat that they know not of. His hope was restored in just one moment to restore man back to God. His purpose came more alive to him that he realized he didn't need the meat of the earth, but to finish his work he needed the Spirit of God.

We can hope again. Our hope is in our creator hand, and we need to put our hands in the hand of the man that can give us that hope.

Hope thou in Jesus and it only take just a few moments, one moment to hope again.

After receiving Jesus, the hope of glory, we need to pant after him with everything we have. She ran for her life to get those; her lovers, boyfriends or whoever they were to come see a man. She didn't stutter, lose her breath in her trot, but she just kept on running. She wanted everybody to receive Jesus as she had. It was no longer about her, but Jesus. Our hope is in our run, in our
Desires, or what we are hoping for. Are you cherishing your desires? Are you anticipating, still giving thought to your desires, discussing them or giving any treatment to them? Can you foresee your dreams and desires coming alive? Can you hold a vision for what it is you want? Do you have an expectation of what your end will be? Heaven or Hell? Our greatest hope is to see God where we are, here and when we die. Too many people wants to see him when they die, but we should live so we can see him while we live. God is life; he is our every breath, yet we don't acknowledge anything but the worldly stuff we possess as a blessing. I admonish you just to take a few moments to rethink your hopes and dreams. III John 1:2 says; beloved I wish above all that thou may prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosper. But if you can't see your soul prospering you will lean to the worldly prosperity, seeking the wrong things. Matthews 6:33, but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these other things will be added unto you. God gives you a hope for receiving things, when you put him first. But is a conjunction which means something comes after it. The kingdom first, then things will be added. God has not forgotten how to add or multiply. But because we hope in the wrong things we subtract and divide ourselves from receiving things.

It only takes God just a few moments to bring to bring you what you need. Why we don't love him, trust him, or honor him like we are supposed to, is a mystery. How could anyone neglect so great a salvation.

On the other hand, once more and again we don't hope because we won't quit our foolishness. Our foolishness keeps us from receiving and we lose sight of what's real and not real. Our expectations of anything go to net zero. Our confidence level is below freezing. Our belief of any fulfillment coming is locked up under our feet because we don't realize that our success is in saying Yes to Jesus not for a brief period, but forever.

Jesus is a lifetime commitment, not just a few moments. You have no hope in that so you can't hope again.

Hope thou in God and hope again. It only takes a few moments, just like a few moments of pleasure can cause you to throw your whole life away, and for what. Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to you.

The Samaritan woman had hope again.

Ruth came out of a rut because she did the illogical thing of following on to know Naomi's God. Oprah went back to Moab, the place of sexual whoredom, which is where she came from and the logical thing was to go back from whence she came. But because Ruth fell not only in love with the man, but she loved his God also and realized that God was her hope. Her hope brought her upon Boaz. Now Boaz was no bozo, he was rich. Ruth's wisdom caused a divine connection to come out of her gleaning in the fields. It wasn't a flesh connection. The honeymoon wasn't just one of honey with no money.

Well in the spiritual, Jesus is our Boaz. He represents life and that more abundantly. In just a few moments we can hope again.

Don't cast yourself down within, get up, hope again.

Don't moan, groan, mumble and complain, get up.

Hope in God and wait expectantly for him and while you are waiting, praise him. He is your help and the help of your countenance.

He will make you to shine again.

He will beautify you with salvation.

He will beautify you with meekness.

You will no longer be downcast or disturbed.
